Maurice Denis was the theorist of the Nabis group. At the end of 19th century, the members of this group were considered as forerunners of the Modern art. The painter bought this house-workshop in 1914. It is situated in Saint Germain en Laye 20 km West of Paris. Built in the late 17th century and provided with a charming garden, the house expose the works of Maurice Denis and his contemporaries like Édouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Odile Redon… the chapel decorated by Maurice Denis is especially moving!
