What a privilege to spend a part of the day at the Abbey de Chaalis near Paris. The ruins of this old Abbey remind us the existence of a Community of nuns in the 19th century. We will visit a small chapel painted by Italian Renaissance masters and recently renovated.

In the gardens, a Museum is dedicated to the acquisitions of Nélie Jacquemart – André, portraitist and art collector, who lived in the end of the 19th century. It is here, in the land of this abbey, that she spent her childhood and as soon as she had enough fortune, she bought the place.

In the spring discover the beautiful rose garden! The huge park as well as perfumers’ workshops invite us to stay longer.

Before we leave a shopping tour is almost necessary in the Museum’s boutique, there are lot of pretty gifts and they are not too expensive!
